What Your Child Will Learn in Piano Lessons
Piano lessons are a fun and rewarding way to build musical skills and confidence. In each lesson, we focus on proper technique, note reading, sight-reading, memorization, and musicality with a focus on helping students learn to love the piano.
I love teaching piano because it helps students build so much more than just musical ability. As children and teenagers learn to play the piano, they develop coordination, focus, memory, and confidence. Many discover that playing music is a powerful way to express themselves, reduce stress, and improve emotional wellness and mental health.
I offer lessons in-person to students in Rexburg, ID and surrounding areas. I also offer lessons online to students anywhere.
Studio Policies
Please take a moment to read through the lesson policies below. Following these helps ensure lessons run smoothly and that each student gets the most out of their experience. Your support and consideration are truly appreciated!
Parent Involvement
Parents are strongly encouraged to attend each lesson. When parents are actively involved, students tend to thrive—and here's why:
- You'll know exactly what your child is learning each week.
- It creates a stronger support system at home.
- Practice instructions are clearer and more consistent.
- Students progress more quickly and stay motivated.
- You can help reinforce proper technique between lessons.
Practice Requirements
Consistent practice is essential for progress. Students are encouraged to practice at least 5 days a week. Here are the recommended daily practice times by level:
- Primer: 15 minutes per day
- Level 1: 20 minutes per day
- Level 2+: 30 minutes per day
- Early Intermediate: 45 minutes per day
- Late Intermediate: 1 hour per day
